Co-Founder / CEO

Barrett Karber is a licensed general contractor, designer, and builder with decades of experience in custom homes, furniture design, and ground-up construction. He is the founder of Grain Construction, a Bay Area and Los Angeles–based firm specializing in high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects.

Driven by a belief that the industry too often prioritizes speed over longevity, Barrett centers his work on durability, material integrity, and forward-thinking innovation. Known for his commitment to craftsmanship and technical precision, he brings expertise in lean construction and creative problem-solving to OAKO, ensuring every sauna is thoughtfully designed and built to last.

Kevin Neilan is an architectural designer and fabricator with over 15 years of experience in construction, custom fabrication, and hands-on building. He holds a Master of Architecture and has worked across residential, commercial, and small-scale architectural projects, bringing ideas from concept through execution.

With a background rooted in fine carpentry and material-driven design, Kevin is focused on precision, craft, and buildability. At OAKO, he leads design, prototyping, and fabrication, ensuring each sauna reflects a balance of architectural clarity, thoughtful detailing, and long-term durability.
